Detoxing superhero?

I haven't brought this up in a while...I was trying to whole "If you ignore it long enough, it will disappear" type attitude. Seems that sort of attitude doesn't actually work very effectively. Huh! Who would have thought...has worked quite effectively in other areas of my life...but alas, not this one if would seem.

Anyways, I digress...back to the point...I felt absolutely shit this morning.
Shit and angry!
Louise Hay would have a field day with that one...angry translates to fear! In my case, a fear of being a fatty all my life.
So, on the spur of the moment, I decided on a Detox Diet. No planning, no being able to talk myself out of it (although I did try....), no last minute backing out.
Traditionally, I have been useless at these. To counteract that I am trying to focus on it being only 3 days...and what is 3 days actually in the greater scheme of things!!!!
And it's not as if I will starve because I don't have a few extra pounds to feed off for energy, I'm not Victoria Beckham or anything.
So, I have begun and I am sure that I feel lighter already.
As always, will keep you posted.

Random...
I think that I may have a penchant for Superheroes.
Seriously!
I went and saw The Watchman last night and I tell you what...Dr Manhattan was H-O-T!
I have no idea if it was because of his aloofness. Or the fact that he could teleport me to where ever and when ever I wanted. Nothing would ever be off limits again. And, the fact that he can be in more than one place at one time and more than one person at one time would surely have to have its advantages???? And, its not like you would be left wondering about the "goods" if you know what I mean...it was all out there and on display.
But, it isn't just Dr Manhattan...
I saw the shorts for Hugh Jackman's X-men Origins: Wolverine movie...
OMG! Hot, hot, hot...
I love it when they turn Comic book heroes into movies...I am not a fan of comics but in movie format...I likey very muchey!
I adored the latest Batman movies too...Christian Bale...well, do I even need to say it....Hot, hot, hot!
I wonder if this borders on a fetish...I will have to think about that.
Anyways, go and see the movie and let me know...it would have been awesome in 3D.

Ok, that is enough of divulging my secrets....

The movies...
I am embarrassed to admit this as Oscar season has come and gone but I went and saw Slumdog Millionaire...AND LOVED IT!
Can't wait to get my chubby little arse over to India (surely won't be chubby by the time I get back!). I read the book, which was good. But I really loved the movie, as different as it was to the book.
Isn't Frieda Pinto the most beautiful thing...and little Ayush and Azharuddin were too damned cute!
It was real and unreal, beautiful and harsh, nauseating and breathtaking...all at the same time.
A beautiful job was done by Danny Boyle.
But as Trainspotting showed real potential, no surprise he delivered this gem.
Rumour has it the next 007 will be his....
Ah, the doors the little golden man opens for you!

Cool stuff...
I love fashion that does more than one thing...and I really like what Nelson Molloy does...and, you can now by online. Yay!

Cool people...
Lily Allen...you rock! I saw an interview on ROVE and I loved how natural you were....just yourself. It was super cool...and you are lovely.

Cool hotels....
Check out Design Hotels...some amazing and unique places to stay. The sort of places that I would love to stay when ever I travel. Similar to HIPHotels...another firm favourite.

I adore Richard Branson....

He is seriously the coolest!

Every time he does something, I love him more. And he is just such a normal guy, a fabulously rich normal guy, with a private island paradise, but pretty normal he remains. And so humble, that is what I find endearing. And then his entrepreneurial abilities, I find those inspirational. I recently read an article where he said that
moguls like him had a responsibility, as well as an opportunity, to expand as the global economy shrinks. That it's important that companies like Virgin, that can afford to expand, do expand in times of recession. Otherwise we'll never get out of recessions, just more and more people will lose jobs, everybody freezes, nobody does anything and it's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Seriously, has the man been looking in my head. Admittedly, the mogul part wasn't me....but the bit about people freezing and creating a massive spiral effect....MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!

Things do need to change though and now they will. And for the better...the light is there, and if we all unite and head in the same direction...we will be sooooooo much better off once we reach the other side.

Richard Branson, you seriously rock!

PS I was so jealous to miss out on the launch of V Australia in Sydney last week....looked awesome!
PSS I can't wait do a round-the-world trip with V and Virgin.Yeeha...bring it on!

OMG - something really cool happened in my world this week, like seriously awesome! The coolest thing ever.Mmmm, probably the coolest thing in the past week at least.

Ok, now I have built it up sooo much and you are going to be all disappointed when I tell you what it is. It's not like I found a cure to a serious disease or the answer to one of life's mysteries....oh, ok, I 'll just tell you...I found my 1st genuine vintage piece EVER in an op shop!

I KNOW!

How exciting is that???? I so understand why people get hooked now. I never did because I thought I must have missed the band wagon on this and every real piece of vintage had been snaffled up! But, alas no! It seems there are still a few last pieces left out there...AND I GOT ONE OF THEM.

So there I was, during an 'oh so exciting' lunch break, having a look at all the op shops along K'Rd when I found myself checking out the bag section. Cluthches are ALL the rage right now so I picked up a large, navy blue one with nice detail, not super small, almost like a big envelope so perfect size. As I opened it and got a whiff of old lady (love that smell, reminds me of my nana's stuff), I spot the label...it's a Hermès! How exciting is that...and for only $20! I absoltuely love it....it looks GREAT with everthing. I feel so Carrie from Sex in the City when I use it.

So as you do, I went and had a quick look at the Hermès website...it is the cutest site! Once you choose your country, 2 options come up. I liked the little man with wings (he must like red bull!) so clicked on him. This takes you to an interactive site with a whole bunch of options including one where you can download, print, cut and paste your very own Kelly Bag - I want it, I'll have it ! How adorable is that....and the designs are the cutest!

We aren't going to talk about the 'D' (code for DIET) because I had a Hen's night last night with copious amounts of bubbles, cheese and crackers, cupcakes and vodka jelly shots! Moving on....

And on the subject of bubbles...which I adore, I had the most delicious bubbles a few weeks back called
Gosset...I think it was the Brut Excellence NV. Yum! Highly recommend. Went down exceptionally smooth.

Um, yes, I think that is it from me....nothing else really exciting to tell you.

So...
